Meet Ella, a smart, and powerful, well equipped baby stroller. Yes, of course it is powered to help climb hills. When a baby is on board, one hand must be on the stroller to operate, but if the baby wants a stroller break – out of the stroller, the stroller will follow you in hands free mode. Cool! The stroller also monitors the surroundings for dangers like bikes and cars. It has smart braking too, so that, for example, in hands free mode it will slow down and stop if you are out of range. Some other goodies include 5-point harness/magnetic buckles, its modular.
Ella is expected to ship this spring, with $200 dollar deposits being accepted now. The Founder’s Ella package includes stroller chasis, infant bassinet, and toddler seat. Unfortunately, Ella won’t fit in everyone’s budget. The listed price: $3800 per their website. Sorry I have no information on where it will ship first.
No, it’s not only for kids. It’s family product. And, it’s rather clever. The small disc you see placed on the pink toothbrush, is the sensor, which they call a Tracker. Everyone needs one.
Most importantly, and impressively, the company says you can place it on any manual toothbrush, including the one in the picture, but also any motorized solutions like Philips Sonicare, Oral-B models, or other brands of electric toothbrushes. The system works by passively tracking and mapping the brushing routine. The provided hub will talk to multiple trackers, for a “mult-tenant” application. That is, it will pull date from as many tracker laden toothbrushes in your home. Parents can make sure the kids – and each other, are brushing properly. Everyone can learn to brush even better thanks to the Truthbrush. There’s even an API and Dental portal so your dentist, in theory, can check in and see how the family is doing, in terms of effective brushing. All together it’s an eco-system for improving dental care!
Parents will be able to tell how often/and long their children (and spouses) are brushing, and whether their patterns are providing best coverage/effectiveness. Pretty cool when you think about it. They suggest that improving one’s toothbrushing effectiveness can be a family “thing,” with everyone encouraging each other to do even better.
I spotted the Truthbrush in the CES Innovation Awards area where it is an Honoree. Checking out Amazon, seems that the newest shipping version is $99 including the Hub and 3 Trackers. Also available with 1, 2, or 4 trackers, starting at $49.
The iREPELL.one from iREPELL is just that, it doesn’t kill pests, bugs, etc. It “merely” repels them. Currently the company says it repels 16 types of pests, in fact, a wide range of pests not just “bugs”. And it’s smart, so they can add more pests to their “repel” list. It focuses on repelling these critters by imitating natural enemies, causing pests to flee the area.
Right now, the 16 consist of: Mosquitos (that’s what we need here in Florida), Mice and Rats, Cockroaches, Moths, Ticks, Ants, Martens, and finally Cats and Dogs. You can set it to repel selectively, for example, if you have a cat and a dog, you can have it not broadcast noise that will repel them.
The smart system learns, and also the company will add additional pests to its capabilities. This is a connected device. Data comes in from units all over the world to help it be more effective.
BTW! I strongly urge the iREPELL folks to add “no-see-ums” to the list – they are the dread of Florida. No-see-ums are not ticks, but “midges” or “biting gnats.” And can get right through most patio screens, they are so small. But I digress.
The device claims a 360 degree protective area. It factors in humidity and temperature.
From their website, the list price seems to be $339 for the US, but online it’s $269 (with free shipping, at this time).
I’m hoping to bring one in for review – but I’ll wait until spring, because summer is when all the nasty critters are out in force.
The Emma smart bassinet, from Emma Healthcare Co. LTD (South Korea) is, I guess, about what you would expect in an advanced, AI driven bassinet. Well, almost, as this company apparently picked up a CES Innovation award in 2022, and again this year’s for their BeBeLucy (model names) series. The BeBeLucy bassinet, tracks the baby’s body temperature, respiration, and heartrate, and can measure stress levels too.
And, let’s not forget that the AI in this bassinet can tell if the baby pooped, and alert you. No need to check frequently to see if baby needs a diaper change.
In addition, through Amazon, it can tell room temp, humidity, even air quality. Fully integrated, the BeBeLucy should be able to talk to smart appliances such as a humidifier, and therefore be able to control some of the room’s characteristics.
The BeBeLucy series includes the bassinet, a crib, and smart recliner. I did not see info on pricing or distribution at the show.
TalkSocket, brought to you by TalkGois an interesting device, that let’s you take your Alexa with you.
It is a Bluetooth device you can attach to your iPhone or Android phone.. They say you can even use it with your phone when the phone is locked. Cool.
And, you don’t have to physically attach it to the phone. As it is a Bluetooth device, it just needs to be “Bluetooth” close, which allows you to put some distance between the two. An example from their website suggests you could have your phone in a backpack, the TalkSocket on the outside, or elsewhere in range, and you are in business.
With TalkSocket (which you could alternately for example, put on a keychain, etc.) or in your car, if you have a Bluetooth connection in your sound system, you can use Alexa to play music, etc., from your phone into the car’s audio system.
Note, the product is pretty thin, when closed, but it can be expanded “PopGrip” so you can use it as a grip on your phone.
TalkSocket is another CES 2023 Innovations Honoree. Unlike many, however, TalkSocket is shipping. Per TalkGo’s website, the price is $129. It comes with a QI charger. Battery life – 1-3 days depending on how much you use it.
