The first thing to do is download Lutron’s Caseta App. That was the usual easy, as I’m an Apple person. A quick trip to the Apple App store, a search for Lutron, a couple of clicks and the App was installed on my iPhone. Simple enough.
Of course to use the App, you need some Lutron devices. In my youth, I probably would have run around shutting off circuit breakers, removing switch covers, labeling wires, removing the old dimmer and wiring in the Lutron dimmer, and putting the cover plate back on.
I’ve given that up though. I don’t count myself as a DIY type any more, besides we’re always changing out gear here, so I rely on electricians and handymen for most installations. I brought in an electrician who has worked with Lutron before. I had mapped out where I wanted all the switches and dimmers installed and he did it. From there, using the App was easy, as I configured for one device at a time.

To do that you open the App and go to the Settings menu. I’ll use the Lutron Lamp Dimmer as our example in these screen shots
