Meet the Canary Flex, a 360 degree HD security camera with crystal clear audio, placement flexibility, and a sleek design. The small camera is housed in a black or white case measuring 4.35 inches by 1.9 inches, and weighs roughly half a pound, making it a discrete option for your home security. The Canary Flex is weatherproof, making ideal for outdoor placement, can be used wire-free, and links up via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, with no need for a hub.
Need to place the Canary Flex somewhere out of range? No problem. Canary has partnered with Verizon Wireless to create a 4G LTE Mount that allows you to mount the Canary Flex wherever Wi-Fi doesn’t reach, providing the camera with a steady signal so that you can always know what is happening around your home. Details on this mount’s availability will be released later this year.
For now, Canary users are not without interesting mounting solutions. There are three available as of now – the Twist Mount, Stake Mount, and Secure Mount. The Twist Mount allows you to secure your camera in odd places. Branches, railings, and light fixtures – no place is off limits. Using a flexible wand, you can hang, curl, wrap, or bend the mount around nearly anything. The Stake Mount is used for hiding your Canary Flex among your outdoor or indoor plants, in your flower beds, or anywhere where there is dirt. The Secure Mount allows you to mount the Canary Flex to a wall or other surface, using a rotating ball-joint to give you a 360 degree view – included in the box.
Canary Flex Features
The camera itself captures video in HD with a 116 degree wide angle lens, and comes with an added bonus of having night vision. Its high-quality microphone captures audio in distinct clarity. The built-in speaker will have “two-way talk” enabled soon, as a free feature. Canary Flex has an extended-life, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and can be used with out without the power supply. The camera comes with a dedicated AES 256-bit data encryption chip, secure transfer via the web, and encrypted cloud storage.
Canary Flex comes equipped with a PIR motion detector that blends in with the front of the casing. The motion detector can discern whether movement is worth uploading to the cloud for further analysis while unplugged, saving battery power while still providing your home with detailed security notifications. The Canary Flex works as a standalone device or live among your existing Canary products. The app automatically pulls local emergency numbers, making contacting local authorities one button away. Canary says, “This feature has stopped or caught thousands of burglaries over the past year.”
