5G Home Internet Is Here. And, So Are Streaming Services with “Cable Like” 100 channel line-ups, Including Local Networks. That’s great, Because I’ve had it with cable!
Not everything about Streaming is better than Satellite or Cable. And not everyone can replace cable internet access with 5G, but I and millions of others are doing just that. Here’s how that’s been working out for me, and might, for you.

This whole article is long enough, you may wish to jump around:
I’ve figured out how to save a “bundle” by dropping cable, which is great news to report, but to do it right, I must address cable bundling. I hate the way cable companies like to suck us in by offering big discounts (often only for a limited time), for various bundling of 2 or more services and other features. I’ve only had cable and internet, but if I had a land line, that would be a 3rd discount…
Looking at my “cable bill” I’ve was at $235 a month going out between cable, and fast internet (and taxes and fees), but a big promo just ended, putting me at $295, per the support guy at Xfinity. My $295 going forward would have included the four 4K cable boxes, DVR fees, etc.. But in my bill also includes a $20 discount for two services with my “gigabyte speed” internet. (OK as mentioned, it typically “only” measures over 500Mb download speeds, – close enough).
I didn’t even have lots of cable options for that price, just some Espn/Sports package I think. In fairness I think that the $49.99 discount, I may have gotten a while back, by calling up to complain about pricing, but bottom line is, that the discount basically just expired, I’d be paying $295/mo (and that’s without the NFL Sunday Ticket package I always had when I was with DirecTV) going forward per Xfinity.
OK enough griping about cable. I’ll be back – no doubt, with a few gripes about T-Mobile’s 5G Home Internet (if it slows down a lot more), and, I’ll gripe about some of the disadvantages of streaming (such as my football games often being many seconds delayed relative to cable or satellite.
