Smart Indoor Lighting

There are two types of bulbs in smart indoor lighting – white and color. Within those segments, smart lights come in all kinds of flavors. There are smart lights that connect through Zigbee, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Smart lights that contain speakers, alarms, scheduling capabilities; even ones that remember what time of day they are typically turned off and on so that when you go on vacation, they will turn on and off automatically, resembling your normal lighting patterns to give the illusion someone is home. Colored bulbs often come with apps so you can cycle through the color spectrum, set certain color palettes to go with the time of day, and schedule when the lights come to life. Some white bulbs are strictly one color temperature, while others automate to the circadian rhythm. Major players in the smart lighting industry include Philips Hue, LIFX, BeeOn and GE.
